Meet the Dog Pack

Phil StaufferPhil Stauffer | Criminal Defense Lawyer

The dog knows what DWI is all about. In my third year of law school, I got one. I know what you’re going through!!! I went to trial and got convicted in federal court. I thought my lawyer could have done more to defend my rights. I personally know the oppressive power of the federal government and unfairness that may occur when DWI is involved. I was on Federal probation for one year. I experienced personal and professional problems as a result. That’s what makes my passion for defending good people accused of DWI and why I decided to focus on DWI law. I bring that same passion to each and every client I represent. Because of this experience, I decided to focus my practice on DWI. I’ve handled hundreds of DWI cases from trial, ALR, contested hearings, investigations, pleas, and consultations. I’ve written and assisted with Continuing Legal Education presentations and written a paper regarding the Intoxilizer 5000. The Dog will definitely be by your side throughout your entire experience.

The Dog graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with a bachelors degree in political science. I’ve traveled abroad, studying international criminal law at the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands and personally watched the trial of Slobodan Milosevic.

Currently, I'm a Certified Breath Test Technician, a member of the National College of DUI Defense,Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, The American Bar Association, and the San Antonio Bar Association. I've worked for The San Antonio Housing Authority, Bexar County Districts Attorneys Office, and Judge Maria Theresa Herr.  Prior to entering the legal profession, I was a network technician, entrepreneur, and served in the United States Navy onboard Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarines.
